We Love the hell out of skateboarders!
Restore is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building positive community in local parks, mentoring and mental health coaching. Whether it’s relationship troubles, addictions or just a need for a pair of skate shoes, we meet skaters where they are and show them love!
Restore provides opportunities for skateboarders to love in return by serving the un-housed communities of our cities.
Love heals. Love restores. Love doesn’t quit. Love never fails.
WHAT WE DO
mentoring
Guider.org reports that mentoring supports isolation, reduces levels of anxiety, increases self confidence, makes an individual feel heard, and gives hope for a future. Mentees have a higher rate of success and achieving life goals.
Mentoring helps individuals take steps to live a self-directed life, improve their health both physically and mentally, strive to reach their full potential by helping find a vision for life, set goals and create plans to overcome personal challenges.
We meet weekly or bi-weekly for coaching and mentoring sessions. Sessions can be done in person or via Zoom.
NIH studies show a Sense of Community significantly reduces symptoms of Depression, Anxiety and Stress.
Restore is dedicated to creating a community that acts as a weekly support group, where individuals participate with each other and encourage one another in rediscovering a sense of personal identity and help create meaningful, life giving connections. We host weekly skateboarding events that build an accepting and loving environment and give opportunity for individuals to support one another in personal growth and come together for common goals. This is safe place for people to be open about their struggles, be heard, loved and not alone.
weekly community
Mayo Clinic Research shows that volunteering improves mental health, provides a sense of purpose, teaches valuable skills, and nurtures relationships.
We empower young people to volunteer in our communities through WHEEL BITES, a hands-on feeding mission to our un-housed neighbors.Volunteering with the unhoused community helps individuals talk about mental health and substance abuse, and engage with others openly to break the stigma surrounding mental health that prevents people from seeking treatment. We gather monthly to volunteer in our downtown areas.
